Stubenville's Dean Martin festival

Did you know that Dean Martin, or rather Dino Crocetti as he was born, was from Stubenville, Ohio?  Now I have a very eclectic taste in music.  Most of the time, I recognize and can sing along to songs, but don't remember who the artist is.  Well Dean Martin isn't an exception.  I recognized a song of his recently "Ain't that a Kick in the Head" and someone told me that he was actually from here in Ohio!  Upon further research, Stubenville puts on a festival in his honor.  This festival is an example of just how a small town and community hold on to successful people who came from there.  It goes to show the impact just one person can have on the history and pride of a community.  In this case, the festival "contributes scholarship monies to local high school students who are pursuing Music."  It is interesting how a community can rally together behind an individual and idolize that individual.  As a result, he or she becomes a key figure and representation of a small community.
