O.R. Edgington Elementary School, Englewood

O.R. Edgington (named after a former principal within the same school district) was the elementary school I attended.  It was originally named Randolph High School and was built in the late 1930s.  It transitioned to one of seven elementary schools within the Northmont City School Ditrict once the school district elected to build a newer, larger facility in the 1950s-1960s.
My grandmother was the second class to graduate from the school when it was a high school.  The building saw an average of nearly 550 children each year from grades kindergarten through sixth grade.  There is a playground, large basketball court with four hoops to play on, and the Northmont Pee Wee Football organization plays their football games on the football field that was originally used by Randolph High School.
Because of the building's age (it still has a fall out shelter sign on the building from WWII) it will no longer be used by the school district.  I have many great memories in this building, from attending class to using the playground to playing football as a youngster....ahhhh nostalgia.
